Ups, Downs....and a death.

I had some awesome results from my 30 day shred challenge.  I lost 6 lbs in 30 days and that was while NOT being strict.  I have been meaning to do an amazing update about my feelings on the shred, my successes and struggles while doing it, and before and after pics. had a different plan.  I have a large and VERY close knit family - and unfortunately (for us) God called my uncle home.  I have been mourning and going through with that.  Please pray for my family and I.  I do not want to disclose any details surrounding the situation, but he was 75 and truly lived a full life.  I was blessed to have known him and to have been a part of his life.

Also, I took  my USMLE Step I examination WOOT WOOT!  So.....before that needless to say, I was underground studying!  No seriously....I canceled my Comcast services (cable, phone internet) in effort to focus more.  I use my Verizon Smartphone to get online at home now-a-days.  I never would've thought I would be disciplined enough to make that kind of sacrifice but I did it, and it did help me to stay on task.  I'm not sure that I feel like adding that bill back on now that I know I can survive without it.

With me grieving and studying let me just say.....I'd be surprised if I haven't gained every one of those 6 pounds back.  I'm not getting on the scale for a couple of weeks, but I am trying to get back into my routine.  I'll be catching up on your blogs for the next few days, hopefully everything with everyone has been GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

  1. I have been wondering where you have been, I've missed you!

I am so very sorry to hear about your Uncle. You and your family will be in my prayers. I am glad that he had a full life, but its always hard to let go, I know.

Wow girl, that is some discipline on the studying! You are going to be passing your exams with flying colors!

If you gained what you lost, it will come off again, I know mine is finally starting to, so I know yours will as well.

    Hugs to you!!

  2. Sorry for your loss :(

Glad you're back. You know, you get to worrying about folks when you don't "see" them around for awhile. Thanks for letting us know you're o.k.

Kudos on the cable/phone/net sacrifice! We lived for YEARS (15 or so) with out a cable..or tv and now, well it would be difficult!! We're so spoiled.

  3. My condolences to you and your family.
Your dedication to your studies is wonderful and I hope you did well on your test....congrats on the 6lb loss :-)

  5. Sorry to hear about your uncle. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Glad you had success with the 30 Day shred. Girl, I didn't stick with it. Maybe in the winter.. right now I just prefer the gym or being outside.. maybe I'll start again when winter comes. COngrats on the 6lbs!

  6. Awwww....sorry about your uncle...death is always such a difficult thing to go through, no matter how old the person was when they pass. I'll pray that your family finds some peace and comfort very soon. And I am simply amazed at the discipline of shutting off the outside world!!...but I know that sacrifice will pay off in spades on your test scores...good for you girl! :)

  7. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle; however, you did say that he is now home with the Lord. That is where my heart longs to be! Take time to grief even though you have stuff to study.

  8. Girl, where you at!? I MISS YOU! Come back soon :(
